Swisscom deploys the first European G.fast service

Swisscom announced that it is the first European operator deploys ultra-fast broadband service through G.fast technology.
For the past years, the old Swiss operator has always been in the front line of G.fast developing. It has deploy the technology outside the city circumstances which have been in high density of FTTH network.
“I am proud that I can announce a commercial rollout of G.fast in Switzerland as of today," Swisscom CTO Heinz Herren said. "I believe this is the first European launch of G.fast commercially.”
Although G.fast can not support gigabit connection in 200m, he belived 500-Mbps is enough for most families now and in near future.
