Apr 03, 2018

ZTE published a DPU(Distribution point unit) product to offer unified management and  other businesses for FTTH(Fiber To The Home)/ FTTdp(Fiber To The distribution point) hybrid service.

Distribution point is a fiber node in twisted-pair-based or copper-cable-based G.fast. It is in charge of exchange of photosignal and electric signal.

According to ZTE’s scheme, the FTTdp is based on PON structure, using the same OLT with FTTH. Its DPU adopting SDN and other technologies. Functions like data packet transmitting, data flow classifying, data flow controlling, QoS and VLAN can be removed from DPU so as to simplify the design. As a controlling node of whole center, it is also access entry of SDN.
