Lenovo publishes a annonuncement that they will lay off staff again. It's part of a strategy of integrating Lenovo and Motorola, which means that all posts are from Motorola department.

Lenovo declares staff who are laid off is less than 2% of total global staff. Lenovo staff around the world are about 55000. So there will be 1000 Motorola employees be fired.

Before the announcement, foreign media reported that Lenovo would lay off 700 to 1200 people that all came from Motorola department.

Apparently, Lenovo intends to transfer its operating main force to China, which is more economical. And it mentioned “reduce costs and improve efficiency” in news draft.

A Motorola staff tapped in Facebook, after a 20-year-work in Motorola, this Friday would be the last day he worked for the company.

Lenovo says headquarters of Motorola will stay in Chicago, where is famous for its technological atmosphere, to be a researching and developing hub for its smart phone business. Lenovo hopes to utilize local talents to develop Motorola products.

Motorola was purchased by Google in 2011, and then sold to Lenovo in 2014.
