Nokia finished XGS-PON FTTP system test in Kuwait

Nokia declared a few days ago that it successfully tested XGS-PON FTTP solution in Kuwait lab.
This was the first time Kuwait had a 10G PON demonstration, which was led by Kuwait government.
The successful trial means this country can easily transfer its gigabyte broadband network into 10Gbps through the XGS-PON one day. They have been providing broadband network through GPON since 2006.
Nokia mainly used 7360 intelligent business access manager’s ISAM FX access node and 7368 intelligent business access manager’s ONT product.
XGS-PON supports symmetrical 10Gbps bandwidth, using single mode fiber single wavelength to transmit. It is viewed as a step toward future NG-PON2.
